Update – 09/24/2018

Nicor Gas continues welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace an 18 inch line. Portions of this pipe just south of Illinois Route 22 have been “pulled” into place. The work effort to relocate this line will continue southward. AT&T continued hanging new aerial cable at the southern job limits and installing underground ducts on the northern job limits. Comcast Cable started installing underground conduits crossing Quentin Road. Please check the Photos tab for more in-depth information regarding the project.  

Update – 09/17/2018

Worksite cameras have been installed to document construction progress. Access to the view the cameras can be found on the right sidebar of the website and through the Photos page. Clicking the link to each camera provides still images and allows you to view a time-lapse videos from the project’s start. Nicor gas continues welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace an 18 inch line. The new 20 inch line will be installed by horizontally drilling underground, attaching to the welded pipe and pulling it into place. Other utility companies, including AT&T and Comcast, continue their efforts to relocate their facilities in conflict with the project. Please continue to check the website for updates.

Update – 09/10/2018

The temporary signals at the West Cuba Road and East Cuba Road intersections were turned on this past week. Removal of the existing signal equipment has started and should be completed by the end of the week. Nicor gas started welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace an 18 inch line that has been in service since 1946. It is being replaced since it is in conflict with the proposed improvements. Other utility companies continue their efforts to relocate their facilities in conflict. Update – 09/04/2018

Temporary erosion control items were installed this past week at various locations throughout the project limits. The temporary signals at the West Cuba Road and East Cuba Road intersections are scheduled to be turned on this week, followed by the removal of the existing traffic signal equipment. Multiple utilities companies continue to move facilities in conflict with the proposed roadway including AT&T and Nicor Gas. Please continue to check the website for updates.
