Update – 10/29/2018

Utility companies continued moving facilities in conflict with the proposed improvements this past week. Nicor Gas crews welded steel pipe sections in preparation for installation on the east side of Quentin Road. Four inch gas pipe was installed under Quentin Road at several locations which distribute natural gas to homes and businesses. AT&T continued hanging new aerial cable and installing underground ducts throughout the job limits. The roadway contractor installed erosion barrier in preparation for temporary pavement which is anticipated to begin soon. The temporary pavement is needed to maintain the number of lanes and capacity which currently exists. Please check the Photos tab for more in-depth information regarding the project.

Update – 10/22/2018

Nicor Gas continued welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace the 18 inch line. The welded gas pipe on the east side of Quentin Road between East Cuba Road and Greenwood Drive was pulled into place on Thursday, October 18th. South of East Cuba Road, gas company contractors continue excavating sending and receiving boring pits. Work on the four inch diameter distribution gas line continued this past week on the south side of West Cuba Road. Update – 10/15/2018

Nicor Gas continues welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace the 18 inch line. The welded gas pipe staged on the east side of Quentin Road between East Cuba Road and Greenwood Drive will be pulled into place this week. South of East Cuba Road, gas company contractors continue excavating sending and receiving boring pits. Work on the four inch diameter distribution gas line continued this past week on the west side of Quentin Road around to and on the south of West Cuba Road. Update – 10/08/2018

Nicor Gas continues welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace the 18 inch line. Approximately 1,000 feet was “pulled” into place this past week north and south of Greenwood Drive. Gas company contractors continue excavating sending and receiving boring pits south of East Cuba Road. Work on a four inch diameter distribution gas line started this past week on the west side of Quentin Road south of West Cuba Road. AT&T continued hanging new aerial cable and installing underground ducts throughout the job limits. Comcast Cable continues to install underground conduits crossing Quentin Road. Update – 10/01/2018

Nicor Gas continues welding and assembling the new 20 inch steel pipe which will replace an 18 inch line. Portions of this pipe just south of Illinois Route 22 have been installed by excavating a trench and lowering the pipe in to place. South of East Cuba Road, gas company contractors are excavating boring pits. These pits will serve as locations where pipes can be lowered underground before being pushed into place. AT&T continued hanging new aerial cable at the southern job limits and installing underground ducts on the northern job limits.
