Update – 3/26/19

Work continued preparing the two ground improvement areas on the east side of Quentin Road between East and West Cuba Roads.  Soils in these areas were removed and replaced by aggregate which will act as a working platform for the equipment needed to install subsurface concrete columns. Installation of the aggregate will be completed by the end of the week followed by the concrete columns next week.  The temporary pipes installed over the last week and a half were tied into existing pipes to bypass the sanitary line in this ground improvement area.  Steel H-piles were installed for a retaining wall south of Boschome Drive.  Over the next two weeks, it is anticipated reinforcing steel will be placed and concrete will be poured for this wall.  Sheet piles north of Greenwood Drive are scheduled to be installed beginning this week.  This operation will take approximately two weeks to finish.  The sheet piles are being installed to assist in removal of poor subsurface soils in the area. AT&T crews continue pulling new cables in conduits and splicing aerial cables at various locations throughout the project.  Splicing on both the fiber optic and copper cables is expected to be complete in April.  The Read More
