Update – 4/15/19
Work continued on the new retaining wall south of Boschome Drive this past week. Concrete in the final section of wall is anticipated to be poured Monday, April 15th. Installation of the subsurface concrete columns in the ground improvement areas between East and West Cuba Roads started this past week. Despite being hampered by the rain and snow, the columns are expected to be complete this week. Equipment is being mobilized to begin the installation of sheet piles north of Greenwood Drive. The sheet piles will take approximately two weeks to install. Work upcoming in the next couple of weeks includes storm sewer installation and earth excavation operations. Please continue to be aware of workers when driving through the work zone.
Nicor Gas completed connections and other ancillary work necessary for to retire the old 18” transmission line last week. The final connections and retirement is expected to be complete Wednesday, April 17th. During the second half of this week, Nicor Gas will begin restoring disturbed areas and removing equipment from the site. Boschome Drive at Quentin Road will remain closed and Nicor Gas is expecting to have it reopened by April 30th. More information regarding the closure can be found at by clicking here.
AT&T crews continued splicing cables at various locations throughout the project last week. The final cable splicing scheduled this week will be primarily completed during overnight hours as to minimize disruptions in service. This work is expected to be completed April 18th through April 22nd.
