Update – 5/21/2019
Last week storm sewer installation continued as the crew started working on its second system of pipes. The storm sewer crossing under Quentin Road between Bristol Trail and Lea Lane/Greenwood Drive was completed on Saturday when traffic was much lighter which helped minimize traffic impacts during the work week. We will provide notification when the next crossing requiring lane closures is expected.
Crews also started placing roadway embankment at multiple locations throughout the project limits. Sheet pile installation north of Greenwood Drive is complete and removal of poor soils has started. As these soils are removed a two foot layer of aggregate will be placed and roadway embankment will be installed. This week roadway embankment and installing storm sewer pipes will continue. Work on a retaining wall south of Illinois Route 22 will begin this week and continue over the next month. Installation of a second temporary sheet pile wall south of Bristol Trail will begin near the end of this week.
Nicor Gas paved Boschome Drive and reopened the road to traffic on Friday, May 17th. They will be working on restoration landscaping in the upcoming week as site conditions allow. AT&T crews will continue removing retired cables and poles that interfere with the improvement over the couple of weeks.
