Update – 5/28/2019
Removal of the poor soils north of Greenwood Drive was completed last week and a two foot layer of aggregate was placed at the bottom of the excavation. Roadway embankment will be placed in this area as soon as weather allows. Installation of the storm sewer system continued last week across from Bristol Trail. Storm sewer installation in this area will continue through the end of the week. Work on a retaining wall south of Illinois Route 22 started last week. Concrete leveling pads for this wall are planned to be poured this week. The pads serve as a base to place precast concrete wall panels on. Installation of a second temporary sheet pile wall north and south of Buffalo Creek also started last week. The temporary wall will be complete this week which is needed to excavate soils to construct the permanent wall at this location.
