The hot and dry weather last week allowed for good progress. The first areas of roadway aggregate were placed north of the Kildeer Village Hall as underground and embankment work in the area is now complete. Storm sewer installation at the south end of the project will continue through this week before crews move to another project location. The block retaining wall north of East Cuba Road will be completed this week and crews have started the next block wall south of West Cuba Road. Crews have started to form and place reinforcing steel at the retaining wall north of East Cuba Road and south of Illinois Route 22. Concrete is scheduled to be poured at these locations on Tuesday, 7/23/19. ComEd is scheduled to begin their second phase of work. This work includes moving the remaining overhead electrical lines from the west side to the east side of Quentin Road between East and West Cuba Roads. When ComEd’s work is complete, communication and cable companies will move their overhead lines. The poles on the west side of Quentin Road will then be removed. Please check the Photos tab for more in-depth information regarding the project.
