Update – 8/13/19
After passing pressure tests to assure pipe joints were properly sealed, the new sanitary sewer force main pipes were connected and put into service. The old sanitary pipes can now be removed which will allow storm sewer and earth excavation work between East and West Cuba Roads to resume.
Storm sewer installation continued at various project locations. Of note, the storm sewer was installed at the new retaining wall south of the Kildeer Village Hall. Precast panels will continue to be installed for this wall through the beginning of this week followed by reinforcing steel and cast in place concrete at the top of the wall. The final concrete pour on the retaining wall at Buffalo Creek was completed last week.
Work on a block retaining wall north of Greenwood Drive continued this past week. Completion of this wall is expected at the end of this week.
Roadway aggregate was placed along most of the new lanes at Greenwood Drive to the north project limits. Several locations on the east side of Quentin Road were final graded and topsoil was spread. Preparation work for new concrete curb and gutter is scheduled for this week in anticipation of concrete pours to begin later this week.
