Work over the last couple of weeks has been concentrated on the new retaining wall on the west side of Quentin Road across from Boschome Drive. The sheeting installed to help facilitate construction was completed followed by excavation. Wall panel installation started last Wednesday. Construction of this wall will continue as weather and site conditions allow. Earth excavation work started in preparation for the noise abatement wall between West Cuba Road and Pheasant Ridge Drive. This week, work is anticipated to continue on the retaining wall across from Boschome Drive. Nicor gas crews continued removal of the 18” gas line that was retired last May. Removal efforts this week will continue and are expected to be complete in the beginning of January. Please check the Photos tab for more in-depth information regarding the project.
Earth excavation started last week for two new retaining walls on the west side of Quentin Road, both south of West Cuba Road. The retaining wall across from Boschome Drive will be nearly 650 feet long and up to 14 feet in height. Sheeting was installed for this wall to help facilitate construction due to limited working space. The wall north of Pine Lake Circle will be nearly 410 feet long and just over 12 feet tall. Hydraulic mulch was applied to the east side of Quentin Road to help control soil erosion. Work anticipated this week includes continuing earth excavation for retaining wall construction and gas line removal. Nicor gas crews continued removing the 18” gas line that was retired last May. Removal efforts this week will be at the retaining wall north of Pine Lake Circle. Removal at this location will continue through the end of the week. Removal of the remaining sections of retired gas pipe is expected to be complete before the end of the year. Please check the Photos tab for more in-depth information regarding the project.
